There are some plants which produce macrocyclic lactone compound. All these compounds smell like Musk. Abelmoschus moschatus is one such plant which is regarded as a popular substitute for animal musk.
Animal Musk or synthetic Musk?
As we mentioned above, how must is extracted from deer, and we can all agree it’s ferocious. Deers have become endangered animals. Even though it is illegal to use these animal musks, a lot of manufacturers use them, claiming cruelty-free farming.
